To celebrate Book Week NI, Translink has announced the addition of Libraries NI as a partner for its ‘Novel Journeys’ book club, which encourages passengers to sit back during their journey and unravel in a range of riveting books for all ages.
Now in its eighth year, Book Week NI is a joint initiative by the BBC and Libraries NI. It involves special BBC features and reports and a busy programme of events in local libraries. School and university libraries are also involved. And there’ll be activities to support bus and train travellers to get reading and listening to books on their journeys as well.
At a special event on Tuesday 19 September, staff and colleagues from Libraries NI celebrated Ormeau Road Library becoming the first library in Northern Ireland to be awarded Library of Sanctuary status.
Macmillan's World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is making a return on Friday 29 September and Libraries NI invites you to get involved. In the upcoming weeks, numerous local libraries throughout Northern Ireland will be taking part by hosting a coffee morning and you are encouraged to come along.
