A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Story Explorers

Like books?  Love reading?  Join us in Omagh Library for our new reading group, Story Explorers, for children in Years 5 - 6.

Afternoon Book Group
Adult Reading Groups are a great opportunity for members to join in some lively literary discussions in a relaxed, friendly environment. The groups encourage people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books and their authors.

Wellbeing Art Workshop with Maurice Shannon Art

Northern Irish artist, Maurice Shannon, will facilitate a free art workshop where adults can take time out to focus on creativity and wellbeing by learning new drawing and painting techniques whilst experimenting with colour.

Suitable for beginners as well as individuals with some painting experience.

This workshop is for adults.

PRONI On Tour

Join PRONI On Tour and Now We're Talking Project to celebrate over a century of collecting records that tell the story of our people and our place.

At this free event, you are invited to drop in between 10:00am - 4:00pm and ask PRONI staff any research questions you my have.

If you're making the visit, why not join the PRONI workshop or enjoy a special screening of films relating to the life and career of folklore collector Michael J Murphy courtesy of the Now We're Talking Project.

Now We're Talking Project: Life and Career of Michael J Murphy - a special screening of films relating to Michael J Murphy, writer, broadcaster, and prolific folklore collector.  During his 34-year career with the Irish Folklore Commission, Murphy collected the folk stories, superstitions and customs of people all over the province of Ulster.  In 1949, Murphy and his family moved to Glenhull in the Sperrin Mountains.  Murphy wrote about his experiences in Glenhull in Tyrone Folk Quest, published in 1973.

Primary School Children are invited to come along to join up for The Story Tree, this year's Big Summer Read!  and it's all FREE!!!

Big Summer Read 2026 - Clay Workshop with Kal

It's time to get creative with The Story Tree by joining Kal for a free 2-day Clay Workshop.

  

Day 1: Monday 6 July  11:00am - 12 noon
Kal will give hints and tips as you sculpt your very own keepsake heirloom.  What will it be?

 

Day 2: Friday 10 July  11:00am - 12 noon
Bring colour and life to your clay model as you decorate it your way.
