Belfast Central Seed Library
The Belfast Central Seed Library is located on the Ground Floor of Central Lending.

It is very easy to take part:
Simply take a packet or 2 of seeds from our seed catalogue drawers. We have a large selection of flower, plants, herb and vegetable seeds to choose from.
And before you leave don’t forget to also check our A - Z of gardening related book subjects listed in the catalogue drawer. You might just find a book to help you with your planting!

Then take your seed packets home, plant them and enjoy watching them grow and don’t forget to let us know how you get on.
Finally, if you know of anyone else who would interested in our Seed Library please let them know about it. The more budding gardeners we can get the better as it will help our Seed Library continue to grow!

University of Dublin Lecture

Death and burial in Ireland 8000 BC - AD 400,
with reference to Ulster.

The richness of the mortuary record that we have for Irish prehistory is a highlight of the archaeological record for that eight-thousand-year span of  time (8000 BC- AD 400). This lecture will consider changing patterns in the treatment of the dead of the earliest human generations who lived in Ireland, referring to Ulster, and how the evidence here relates to wider trends across the island and internationally. The lecture also provides an opportunity to reflect on the relationships between past and present mortuary practices.

Speaker: Gabriel Cooney, Is emeritus professor of Celtic Archaeology, School of Archaeology, University College Dublin.

What are you reading, watching, listening to or talking about?

Come along to Teen Zine Night and turn the things you love into your very own zine! Create pages about music, gaming, films, sport, books, art, fashion, culture  or anything else that grabs your attention.

Write a review, tell a story, make a comic, share an opinion, create a collage or come up with something completely unexpected. Use words, drawings, photographs, cut-outs, collage and whatever else inspires you.

You don’t need to be a writer or an artist, just bring something you’re interested in and let your creativity take over!

As part of the National Year of Reading, Teen Zine Night celebrates the idea that reading, writing and storytelling can happen anywhere and that your voice deserves a place on the page.

All materials supplied.
