Inspire, the mental health and wellbeing charity, is marking its 65th anniversary with a poignant and powerful exhibition, INSPIRED, bringing together the stories of its service users and staff.

The multi-media exhibition consists of everyday items, each belonging to one individual and prompting a story or memory of a specific point in their life. Each seemingly mundane article (a set of car jump leads, a 1970s iron, a pair of running shoes, a front door key) has a deeply personal story conveyed through audio narration by the story-tellers themselves.  Each shares intimate reflections on their experiences, reflects on their past and, with support from Inspire, looks ahead to the future.

Exhibition of Glass Fusing Lanterns  

Local artist Sharon Regan has been teaching the unique craft of Glass Fusing to clients from Action Mental Health, Newtownards. They have been working from the campaign theme, I am Someone.

Dickens for Larne Exhibition  

Marking 150 years since the death of Charles Dickens, this PRONI exhibition delves into his enduring connection with three influential Ulstermen. Through historical archives and personal correspondence, discover how Dickens’ visits to Ireland and his friendships influenced his work and cemented his literary legacy.

Fun and where to find it and The light and the dark Exhibition  

An exhibition of poetry by Fiona RH Corry. Fiona began writing in January 2024, and this creative outlet quickly became part of her daily life. Her poems vary from the whimsical to those that speak of challenging experiences.

I Just Called exhibition by Colin James Wood  

A mostly audio installation where library users can scan a QR code on their tablet or smart phone and listen to anonymous recordings of a curated series of messages about love, hared humanity and the importance of heartfelt communication.  

 

A telephone seat will be the focal point of exhibition.
