Take Time Out This May With a Welcoming Programme in Antrim and Newtownabbey Libraries

Highlights include Music Appreciation sessions celebrating the sounds of the 60s and 70s in Glengormley, Ballyclare and Antrim libraries, offering a relaxed chance to enjoy familiar music and share memories.

Dementia Friends Talks with the Alzheimer’s Society will also take place across the borough, including Antrim Library on Thursday 7 May at 11:00am, providing practical insight into supporting people living with dementia.

In Glengormley Library, Voices of Glengormley Past on Thursday 28 May at 6:30pm will bring together local stories, poetry and shared memories in an informal evening setting.

Creative events feature throughout the month, including a gel printing workshop in Randalstown Library on Wednesday 13 May and a family ‘Bug-tastic Time’ session in Rathcoole Library on Saturday 16 May at 10:00am.

For younger visitors, Glengormley Library will launch a new ‘Busy Hands and Bright Minds’ group on Wednesday 14 May, offering a relaxed space for children aged 6–11 to explore sensory play, stories and creative activities.

Visitors can also explore the Eden Project’s Rooted in Community exhibition in Antrim and Glengormley libraries throughout May.

Rathcoole Library will host a MayFest programme throughout May, inviting the community to explore its recently refurbished space through a range of family-friendly events and activities.
