UPDATES RELATING TO LIBRARIES INCLUDING TEMPORARY AND EXCEPTIONAL CLOSURE DATES:

• Warrenpoint Library Temporary Closure

   Due to circumstances beyond our control, Warrenpoint Library will be temporarily closed to allow for essential maintenance works to be carried out. We estimate that the library may be closed for a period of six weeks and during this time, a mobile library will be available at the library venue every Monday and every Thursday from 1.30pm – 4.30pm from 1 October. Warrenpoint Library customers can also use the nearby Newry City and Kilkeel libraries.

   During the closure, items can be renewed online using your library membership card and PIN. Library members can borrow and return items at any public library across Northern Ireland and eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers can also be accessed as normal through our Online Library.

• Enniskillen Library:
  Libraries NI can confirm that a contractor has now been appointed and work will soon commence on the new Enniskillen Library.
  
  In order for this work to proceed, Enniskillen Library has closed to the public from Monday 21 September 2026. There is a temporary events service available at Fermanagh House - click here to see the events timetable (or scroll to bottom of this page).
  
  The closure marks an important stage in plans to provide a new, modern library for Enniskillen and the wider community. Customers are encouraged to keep an eye on the Libraries NI website and social media channels for the latest updates.
  
  A mobile library service will be available from Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Cornagrade Road Car Park, Enniskillen, opposite the Kilmacormick Road junction.
  

• Falls Road Library will have a temporarily reduced service to facilitate essential building maintenance to the adult floor area, there will be no access to the adult non fiction/Irish section and access to computers and study area will now be available on the first floor only. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

• Dromore Library's customer lift is currently unavailable while essential maintenance work is carried out. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

• Downpatrick Library will be closed from Thursday 17 September until Saturday 26 September inclusive due to essential maintenance.  The library will reopen at 9:30am on Monday 28 September. Alternative libraries include Ballynahinch.

• Ballynahinch Library will be closed from Saturday 26 September until Thursday 1 October at 1:00pm due to essential Maintenance, the IT services will also be unavailable on Friday 25 September. Alternative libraries include Downpatrick.

• Belfast Central Library's customer lift is currently unavailable while essential maintenance work is carried out. Customers who require lift access can use the staff lift to access all floors of the library. Please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to assist. We apologise for any inconvenience.

• Lisburn City Library's first to second floor escalator currently isn't working. However, there is access to the second floor via the lift and stairs.

• Warrenpoint Library is temporarily closed due to essential building maintenance. Alternative libraries include Newry City. Please note while Warrenpoint Library is closed for essential maintenance, a temporary mobile library service will operate at the car park beside Warrenpoint Library on the following dates:

• North West Mobile Library is temporarily unavailable due to essential vehicle maintenance.

• Craigavon and Armagh Mobile library is temporarily unavailable due to essential vehicle maintenance.
